Pro Artibus Foundation runs an artist’s residency in collaboration with the Faculty of Education and Welfare Studies at Åbo Akademi University – Vasa. The project spans 2019-2029 and residency periods last three years.

The residency artist works together with Pro Artibus’ Art Educator and Åbo Akademi University’s teachers, researchers and students to produce cross-disciplinary practices based in art. The goal of the programme is to offer future Swedish speaking class teachers and educators insights into contemporary art’s various modes of expression and cross-disciplinary possibilities. Both residency artists and educators have workrooms at Åbo Akademi University’s premises in the Academill building in Vasa. The residency apartment is in the new Solsidan Housing Company at Hietasaarenkatu 6 in Vasa.

The artist-in-residence at Vasa receives a working grant from The Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland. Fastighetsstiftelsen för Svenska kulturfonden (property foundation for The Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland) owns and maintains the residency apartment.
