We apply our safer space principles in all our operations, our premises and events. Our staff follow these principles in their work, and we hope that our visitors and partners will also commit to them.
The feeling of being safe comes from the way we treat each other.
We treat everyone equally and with respect. We let everyone be themselves, treat each other with kindness, and respect each other’s personal space and art experiences.
We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, violence or any other form of demeaning behaviour. Homophobia, bullying, racism, sexism, transphobia and behaviours that belittle or devalue others are not accepted.
We avoid making assumptions about others: about their sexuality, gender, nationality, ethnicity, religion, values, socioeconomic background, health or functional ability. We speak from our own experiences instead of speaking for others.
We listen to each other and respect each other’s opinions and knowledge. We are open to new perspectives. There is room for different interpretations and opinions, and we express them in a constructive way.
We take responsibility for our own actions and apologize if we have intentionally or unintentionally hurt someone. Everyone occasionally makes mistakes and we learn from them.
We intervene in inappropriate behaviour. If a situation causes concern or feels uncomfortable, you can contact Pro Artibus staff before, during and after the event. You can also give feedback via an anonymous form.
Pro Artibus continually develops its safety work and accepts feedback to improve its routines. The organisation has a plan for dealing with unsafe situations, and does its best to support those affected and to deal with the situations in a professional, respectful and equitable manner.
Together, we foster a safe, inclusive environment.
