Pro Artibus’ conservator looks after the Foundation’s collection. The conservator’s duties include inspecting artworks before and after exhibitions, preventive conservation, and documentation of the works. The conservator also prepares the collection’s artworks prior to long-term loans.
Conservation thus involves trying to preserve the condition of the artwork and thereby to stop it deteriorating. Conversely, the aim of restoration is to recreate the artwork’s original appearance. The conservator can be contacted about issues regarding conservation of the Foundation’s own collection. By arrangement it is also possible to get guided tours of the conservation facilities. For the present, Pro Artibus is regrettably unable to offer conservation services to outsiders, nor does Pro Artibus assist with valuation of art.
