Eric Adlercreutz – The Architect’s Pen Meets the Paper

The exhibition The Architect’s Pen Meets the Paper – Sketches and drawings from 1950-2018 is on view at Kirkkonummi Main Library Fyyri 21.1–26.2.2022

The Architect’s Pen Meets the Paper tells the story of Eric Adlercreutz’s (b. 1935) wide-ranging career as an architect and shows how drawing has played a major role in his work, while also revealing it to be a lifelong passion. For Adlercreutz drawing is not just a technical performance, but a way of thinking – a collaboration between brain and hand. He says thinking by drawing is still part of the architect’s work, even though nowadays many architects are aided by modern technology.

The exhibition is produced by Pro Artibus Foundation. The exhibition was shown in 2018 at Elverket in Ekenäs, after which it has continued to Museum of Finnish Architecture in Helsinki 13.6–8.9.2019, the Alvar Aalto Museum in Jyväskylä 27.9.2019–5.1.2020 and Sibelius Museum in Turku 3.6–1.12.2020. 21.1–26.2.2022 the exhibition is on view at Kirkkonummi Main Library Fyyri.
